MILLWALL defender Darren Ward has reportedly held preliminary talks with Swindon Town about a move to the League One club.

Ward was photographed by the Swindon Advertiser leaving the County Ground on Thursday after a meeting with Robins boss Paolo Di Canio.

The 33-year-old was the subject of an approach from Gillingham earlier this summer but the centre-back was not satisfied by the personal terms on offer.

Lions boss Kenny Jackett dropped Ward from his squad for the midweek win over Peterborough and is thought to be willing to allow the former Wolves man to leave The Den if he can secure a long-term deal and regular football elsewhere.
