MILLWALL midfielder Shaun Williams will sit out the final three games of the season after fracturing his foot against Wigan last week.

Physio Bobby Bacic says the 28-year-old’s injury, sustained when he slid into an advertising hoarding, is “more common in snowboarders landing from height rather than footballers.”

Williams missed Saturday’s goalless draw with Cardiff and, speaking after the game, interim manager Neil Harris confirmed the Irishman will play no further part this season.

Harris was also asked about the outlook for right back Shaun Cummings, who picked up a groin problem during the 2-0 win over the Latics.

The Lions boss said: “Williams won’t play again for us this season, which is a big loss, and Cummings is having intensive treatment to see whether he can be available at all this week.

“We’re not sure but it is unlikely.”

Bacic, speaking to the club’s official site, added: “We will give another update on Williams’ condition after he has a review with the surgeon, but we expect to let the bone heal naturally.”
