Gills manager Allen interested in signing Millwall players

GILLINGHAM manager Martin Allen has revealed that he has made enquiries about signing some of Millwall’s fringe players.

And local press reports in Kent claimed yesterday that Allen is now “hot on the heels” of two unnamed Lions.

In an interview with TalkSport, Allen confirmed: “I spoke to Kenny Jackett a couple of days ago about some of his players.”

Allen has only recently filled the vacant hotseat at the Priestfield Stadium, replacing Andy Hessenthaler, who has since taken up a position on the club’s board.

Asked about the prospect of imminent transfer activity, Allen said: “With some of the players we are close, but you have to wait for the other clubs to let them go.”
