Lions miss out on Portsmouth’s Ashdown
MILLWALL signed Leeds United goalkeeper Maik Taylor after a deal for Portsmouth’s Jamie Ashdown fell through, according to reports.
The Lions yesterday tied-up a loan deal for 40-year-old Taylor until the end of the season to provide cover for first-choice stopper David Forde.
But it seems boss Kenny Jackett originally had his sights set on Ashdown.
However, the Fratton Park club blocked the move as the 31-year-old is likely to feature heavily in Pompey’s run in, with current number one Stephen Henderson expected to join West Ham imminently.
